Timber Treatment and Preservation
Timber damage is often caused by insects or fungi,
although generally only about one third
is attributable
to insects.
Timber which is infested by insects can almost always be saved, restored or renovated.
Unfortunately, this is not the case when the damage
is caused by fungi, like dry rot.
Dry rot (serpula lacrymans)
robs the timber of its inherent strength, with the
consequence that it has to be completely removed and
replaced.
The German DIN 68 800 sets the parameters for this
type of work and our technicians are fully trained
to meet this standard.
